The Indian train system is, by far, the most efficient land-transport in all of India. Efficiency, however, does not equal speed, so a common train trip in India is easily an all-day affair.

So what do you do when you don’t feel like writing or reading? That’s right, listen to music!

There is nothing quite like having a soundtrack to the incredible Indian scenery, and my iPod Touch has been the perfect getaway during long trips between cities.

Aside from having music playing capabilities, the iPod Touch can also play games or movies. This is a great commodity when the scenery is masked by fading sunlight. The bigger screen than the iPod’s earlier models is nice, too.

However, the majority of my iPod use has been for music, so an iPod shuffle or a smaller, cheaper mp3 player would have sufficed. In other words, don’t run out and by an iPod touch because a cheaper alternative is just as effective.
